Meridiana was founded in 1963 by Meridiana S.p.A. in Italy. Meridiana’s headquarters are currently located in Olbia and the main base in Malpensa Airport. Meridiana is not a star alliance member. Francesco Violant leads the company as the CEO. Its subsidiaries include Swoop, WestJet Encore, WestJet Link and  WestJet Vacations Inc..
